Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Analyst II / Junior Product Owner to collaborate with business, technology, and management within Verisk to shape, implement and oversee product deliveries within the Core Lines product suite. Define and execute technical analysis of processes and technology implementation including aspects for both business process improvement and lifecycle governance. Transparent communication with clients and team members on project’s status and steps to success. 

Responsibilities 

  • Conduct research such as interviewing people about business requirements and create specifications for projects 
  • Analyze and organize the gathered information to understand and implement project requirements 
  • Facilitates or participates in collaboration activities with both business and technical stakeholders to engineer requirements  
  • Develop use cases, user stories and other forms of documentation as need to express business needs to technical teams 
  • High attention to detail through proofing, follow through and scheduling 
  • Participate in project planning and all Agile ceremonies  
  • Collaborate with business and technology to own/build current and future product roadmap. 
  • Ensure the right level of tracking and transparency on milestones is maintained 
  • Monitor project(s) results for deviations 
  • The drive for self-development, the ability to collaborate, and an action-oriented work ethic 
  • Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories.  
  • Work closely with Product Manager(s) to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI. Contribute specific understanding of assigned scope to the overall product roadmap. 

Qualifications

Requirements 

  • Strong applied knowledge of system development technologies, primarily with Agile, Six Sigma and Lean principles 
  • Experience gathering and analyzing business requirements and risk identification  
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, facilitation, mediation, negotiation, collaboration, and presentation. 
  • Work effectively with technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. 
  • 5+ years experience in one or more of the following: lead on a new or transformed product or service 
  • Ability to organize material, analyze and develop recommendations 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills 
  • Experience in content and content platform projects is desirable 
  • Experience in insurance policy language and rating algorithms is desirable 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education is desirable
