Overview
The Administrative Assistant – Centralized Bereavement is responsible providing administrative support to the Bereavement team and will assist with general office functions in addition to collaborating with the centralized bereavement coordinators.
Compensation may vary within the salary range provided based on several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s location, experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications and department equity. Gentiva provides associates with a comprehensive benefits and total rewards package, of which base pay is just one piece.
Salary Range – $25.00/hour - $28.00/hour

About You
Specialized Knowledge:
- Knowledge of office administration and management, clerical procedures and record keeping systems.
- Advanced proficiency working with technology and electronic applications including Microsoft Office products, and other business intelligence systems.
- Maintains a strong customer service focus and commitment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families and all levels including field clinicians and leadership.
- Ability to be flexible and shift work priorities with little or no notice based on business needs.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with internal customers and colleagues.
- Exercises professional judgement and demonstrates critical thinking skills.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all associate, patient, and customer information to assure patient and families rights are protected.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or related experience preferred.
- Prior experience in an administrative or secretarial position preferably in a hospice, home health, community care, hospital, or any other healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of terminally ill patients and their families and an understanding of end-of-life care, hospice, loss, and death.
