Senior Product Designer - Creator & Developer Platforms

To-date, Genies has been widely adopted by cultural tastemakers and has partnerships with Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group as their rosters’ “official avatar.” Genies has recently launched its consumer arm via its AR Developer Kit which allows developers to create interoperable avatar experiences for mobile and hardware AR. Their first avatar experience, Silver Studio, allows users to design and exchange digital fashion. Genies is in search of a Senior Product Designer with exceptional skills and unwavering motivation to lead the design innovation of our developer and artist portals; integral components of our thriving avatar and experiences ecosystem. 

Reporting to the Product Design Manager and closely collaborating with the lead Product Manager, you will bear responsibility for the holistic design journey, encompassing our current portals, future web products, and bridging our developer experiences with our platform. Your creative vision will be instrumental in crafting clear, visually appealing, and user-centric interfaces, harnessing your deep understanding of user psychology to navigate ambiguous environments and make strategic product decisions. With a rich background in influencing both internal and external portals, impacting content creators, developers, and the broader social network community, you are poised to significantly contribute to our product and design strategies. 

You will engage in impactful collaborations with high-profile stakeholders, including the Director of Product, company founder & CEO, and leadership teams across engineering and product domains to address complex technical product challenges that necessitate a reevaluation of design, user interfaces, workflows, and interactive fundamentals. At Genies, your role as a Senior Product Designer is pivotal; you will be a catalyst for change and innovation, driving the evolution of our portals and playing a central role in the success of our avatar social network ecosystem. What You Should Have:

• 6+ years in design roles, specializing in design systems, web, or related fields.
• The ability to forge strong connections with peers in product, engineering, and design, actively influencing the product's direction.
• A strong portfolio showcasing your mastery in composition, typography, layout, and conceptual design.
• Experience in developing, documenting, and implementing comprehensive visual systems.
• The ability to set and promote an inspiring visual direction for the Developer and Artist portals, and Genies.com
• Proven experience in establishing design principles that demystify complex design challenges.
• Proficiency in creating, managing, and evolving UI components to ensure consistent user experiences.
• Experience in assembling design documentation, including style guides, libraries, and patterns.
• A deep understanding of design systems, design thinking, and user-centric design principles.
• An exceptional focus on detail, striving for pixel-perfect design outcomes.
• Expertise in Figma and other essential design tools.
• Industry Insight: Knowledge of portal, B2B, and B2C product landscapes.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Ensure visual and brand consistency across Genies.com, the Developer Portal, and Artist Portal.
• Create interfaces that seamlessly bridge the gap between developer experiences and the platform.
• Deliver designs that are not only pixel perfect but also well-thought-out architecturally and intuitive for users.
• Gather feedback from various stakeholders, making informed design decisions that result in beautiful, user-delighting outcomes.
• Lead collaborative brainstorming sessions with design, engineering, and product teams, integrating diverse perspectives.
• Tackle complex design problems, simplifying them into a thoughtful roadmap from MVP to the North Star.
• Conduct user studies on both new and existing features to gather valuable insights.
• Utilize a user-centered design process to create user stories, personas, flows, design mockups, prototypes, and specifications for complex projects.
• Contribute to, shape, and advocate for the product design vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with user-centered practices and operationalizing processes.
• Work closely with teams across Engineering, Product, Art & Animation, and Senior Management to achiev
