Yard Driver - 2nd Shift Full Time - Newbern, TN  

This position starts at $22.95/hr. with a shift increase for second and third shift and potential for overtime.  We have open positions for second shift.

This facility operates five days a week and produces Sausage Patties, Sausage Links and Roll Sausage.

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Responsible for spotting trailers for all plant departments.,  completing daily equipment reports, and trailer up-keep, while also adhering to good safety practices, food safety policies and company policies. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Submit an equipment report each day on all Tyson Foods equipment at the facility (including outside trailers and storage trailers).
• Keep accurate records through the shift of equipment arriving and departing.
• Monitor all equipment for damage and report to supervisor. 
• Inspect the inside of trailers for cleanliness before loading, perform trailer wash-outs as needed.
• Rotating trailers for maintenance.
• Monitor temperatures of all trailers on lot to maintain product integrity.  Add Fuel as needed.
• Obey all corporate safety policies and procedures.
• Keep yard tractors clean and report all maintenance items to supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

• All other duties as assigned.  Overtime as needed.
• ALL employees are responsible for upholding principles of SQF 2000.
• Basic math skills required. 
• Ability to communicate effectively with company employees, drivers and contract carriers.
• Must be able to maintain prompt and regular job attendance.
• Fork-lift experience preferred.
• Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, ability to work independently, and must be results oriented and good problem-solving techniques.
• Ability to operate a pallet jack and forklift / pass the pallet jack test and forklift test.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a good MVR
• At least 18 years of age
• NO DUI/DWIs in the last 12 months
• Ability to work in below freezing temperatures for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to perform the assigned tasks, some of which may include but is not limited to standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.
• Must be able to work on and around machinery and chemicals.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
