Senior Systems Test Engineer

Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Test Engineer to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC).
Essential Functions:
- Reports directly to the Eastern Range (ER) Test & Evaluation Lead Engineer.
- Test Engineer (TE) is responsible for the execution of all Developmental Test & Evaluation/Operational Test (DT&E/OT) activities associated with a development task (ie – formerly known as a “project”).
- TE is the fully empowered SFRC authority for conducting and executing all development-related DT&E/OT activities. Act as the Test Conductor (TC) to include coordinating teams and gathering tools required.
- Represent Test in development task planning and execution, to include tailoring of processes applicable to specific testing activities and schedule.
- Develop test approach with Customer and participate in applicable Integrated Project Team (IPT) meetings. Documents step-by-step Test Procedures or Functional Checkout Procedures, Test Reports/Functional Checkout Reports, Non-Conformance Reports (NR), Discrepancy Reports (DR)
- Coordinate and communicate with internal groups (ie – PM, SE, CM, HW/SW Tech Leads, Cyber, etc) and external organizations (ie – Customer, O&M, WR Counterparts, Subcontractors, etc) on a regular basis.
- Analyzes decomposed and allocated requirements for test verification from the subsystem level down through the CI level to specific development tasks.
- Analyzes customer-provided range deficiencies to identify and prioritize proposed development tasks to address those deficiencies.
- Applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques and assists in the development, implementation and documentation of impact assessments, architecture change recommendations and CONOPS change recommendations.
- Provides test-centric technical consultation and expertise where needed throughout the SE process.
- Supports other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or related engineering field.
- Familiar with entire Systems Engineering process, to include major milestones such as PRR, PDR, CDR, IRR, TRR, OA, RRB
- Experience working with computer hardware, operating system software and desktop applications (ie – Sharepoint, Windchill, LIMES)
- Experience working with agile design principles and applications.
- The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific development task requirements.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License required
Additional Qualifications:
- Familiarization/experience with ER (and/or WR) operations and procedures
- Familiarization/experience with Range Subsystems: Command, Telemetry, Data Handling, Radar, Optics, Range Safety, Weather Systems
- Familiarization/experience with other computer operating system software and desktop application (ie – Stargate, VRV, JDRS, Vision, MS Project, ChatGPT, Google Gemini)
- Familiar with Digital Transformation initiatives
- Familiar with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML), Digital Twins
Compensation Details:
$130,000 - $145,000
