Job Overview
Reports directly to Engineering Manager / Maintenance Manager. This is a mainly preventive maintenance position and requires the skills to maintain high level of machine performance. Performs routine set up, operation, minor and major routine maintenance, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of highly complex/automated manufacturing equipment. Perform mechanical, pneumatic and electrical maintenance (including preventive) repairs, adjustments, inspection and monitoring of production and/or facilities related equipment and machinery. Uses judgment and consultation to analyze, troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and machinery. Must project positive attitude with good team skills. Effectively works in a team setting, supporting team goals and objectives. Make effective decisions relative to position requirements. Uses judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, troubleshoot and problem solve in performance of all maintenance tasks.

PM Technician 2

1ST SHIFT WEEKENDS

36 HOUR WORK WEEK PAID FOR 40 HOURS

Job Responsibilities

• Performs routine set up, operation, minor and major routine maintenance, preventative maintenance (PM) and troubleshooting of highly complex/automated manufacturing equipment. Controls and adjusts machine settings.

• Responsibilities include production, quality, downtime, and waste levels of machine operation. Perform mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance (including preventive) repairs, adjustments, inspection and monitoring of production and/or facilities related equipment and machinery. 

• Uses judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, fix and problem solve in performance of all maintenance tasks. 

• Prioritizes daily work assignments to meet production needs and department goals. 

• Responsible for preventive maintenance scheduling, completion of work orders and tasks as assigned.

• Supports installation and removal of equipment, and performance of required corrective maintenance.

• Monitors the production lines and proactively evaluates equipment performance for repairs and continuous improvement.

• Must demonstrate mechanical ability to complete changeover of equipment.

• Assist with root-cause analysis activities for process or product exceptions. 

• Checks work using prescribed gauges, jig and fixtures to measure close tolerances. 

• Ensures accurate documentation of all relevant quality, safety, and maintenance documents. 

• To be done in conjunction with Engineering, Quality and Production supervision:

• Assists with the installation, debug, and start-up of all new or modified production equipment.

• Works with general supervision. 

• Works with external contractors and vendor as needed

• Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

• Must follow all BD housekeeping policies and procedures

• Must follow all BD safety policies and procedures

• Must be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirements

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED & Certificate and 2 years of experience in relevant field   

• High School Diploma or GED with 4 years relevant experience required

• Relevant Fields: Electrical / Electronics Technician, Electromechanical Technician, Mechanical Engineering Technician, Industrial    Programmer, Electrician, Machine Builder / Repairer, Machinist, Refrigeration Mechanic, Welding Repairer

Knowledge/Basic Skills:

• Time management skills required to ensure all tasks are completed without delay  

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to work with various teams
