We founded Holvi in 2011 in Helsinki. As self-employed people wading through oceans of paperwork, we noticed something funny going on – traditional banks were giving us the cold shoulder. Why not help ourselves? We asked. And so, with time and effort (and lots of coffee), we mastered small business finance – and Holvi was born.

Right now, we’re looking for a full-time Senior Backend Engineer to join our Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable (ARAP) product team.

The ARAP team’s strategic focus is building a comprehensive sales and expense management platform for small and medium-sized businesses – including but not limited to invoice management, bookkeeping and payment card-related services.

You'll be working across the entire Holvi product

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Holvi, you’ll be crafting the future of our ARAP platform as part of a cross-functional, multidisciplinary team. You’ll collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Design, Marketing and Creative to enable our customers to focus on their passion, not paperwork.

This is for you if you:

• have more than three years of experience as a software engineer (we use Python)

• like to write readable, maintainable code and design reliable, performant solutions

• can refine requirements in an iterative and collaborative manner

• are comfortable owning your tasks and pushing them forward

• know how to communicate clearly, in plain language

• are fluent in English, both spoken and written

It's a plus if you:

• have experience working in a large codebase

• are familiar with cloud (AWS) and containerisation technologies (Docker), test automation tools and CI/CD pipelines

• have a background in web development and API integrations

• have a good understanding of relational databases and data modelling in general

• have experience working in a fintech company or financial sector, or are familiar with payment processing, invoicing or bookkeeping systems

• Location: Helsinki capital area or Berlin (hybrid), or remote from Spain or other parts of Finland and Germany

• Working hours: core hours
