This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
As part of a dynamic and dedicated team of Mechanical and Fluid Engineers, you will play a crucial role in developing systems to test rocket engines, components, and integrated space flight vehicles. As a Ground System Fluid/Mechanical Engineer II, you will contribute to all aspects of test stand design across the full system lifecycle — designing fluid and structural systems for test facilities, supporting supplier coordination, and helping bring new test systems from concept through commissioning. You will grow your technical expertise while delivering meaningful work on world-class test infrastructure under the guidance of senior engineers. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Shifts: A | Mon-Fri (7am-4pm), B | Mon-Fri (2pm-10:30pm), C | Fri-Sun (6am-6:30pm), D | Fri-Sun (6pm - 6:30am)
Up to 25% travel required between facilities and for field operations
Location: Space Coast, FL

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support design and development of fluid and mechanical systems for ground test facilities across the system lifecycle, from System Requirement Review (SRR) through Pre-Activation Review (PAR)
Develop and release engineering deliverables including P&IDs, models, drawings, eBOMs, and engineering analyses under the guidance of senior engineers
Apply fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and system integration fundamentals to the design of high-pressure gas, cryogenic, and propellant fluid systems — including process architecture, layout, and component selection
Design and develop mechanical test fixtures and structural supports
Support hazard assessments including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs)
Participate in design reviews (IDR, FDR) and build reviews; support PAR readiness activities including system walkdowns
Coordinate with suppliers on technical requirements under supervision; support tracking of cost and schedule inputs
Support proof testing, passivation, and cleaning of fluid system components to required IEST cleanliness standards
Apply industry standards including ASME B31.3 and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) to design work
Provide on-site support during fabrication, installation, and start-up of new facilities or upgrades
Identify and communicate technical, cost, and schedule risks to the team or project lead
Maintain configuration management of engineering deliverables in Windchill
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university
Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role: (0-3 years Level 1 Manufacturing Engineer, 3+ years Level 2 Manufacturing Engineer, 5+ years Level 3 Manufacturing Engineer, 8+ years Sr
Foundational knowledge of fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and system integration
Demonstrated knowledge of fluid system components including valves, regulators, and pumps for cryogenic, propellant, and high-pressure gas applications
Practical knowledge of standard installation and fabrication methods for piping systems, connections, fasteners, and weld
