Job Description
This position is a multi-discipline position supporting HII’s Program Management Office (PMO) for NSWC. This position supports day-to-day execution of equipment purchasing, routinely working with vendors, contractor, and customer leads to ensure proper priority of equipment purchases in order to meet delivery requirements. Purchases will include short turnaround requirements as well as long-term large-scale purchases.
Essential Job Responsibilities
• Execute quick turnaround, high priority purchases of various types
• Coordinate and communicate with vendors, procurement manager, lifecycle manager, engineering department, and logistics to ensure purchase orders are issued according to priority and all equipment is delivered on time
• Create and submit for approval, Pre-Award Purchase Requisitions and Award Purchase Requisitions in Costpoint
• Create and submit for approval vendor comparison spreadsheets
• Work with vendors, procurement officer, and logistics to resolve issues regarding equipment delays, incorrect items delivered, incorrect or missing information, and any other issues that may arise
• Track estimated delivery dates and work with vendors to keep information accurate
• Ensure all information pertaining to equipment purchase orders is documented and properly stored
• Provide shareholders with status updates as required, specifically estimated delivery dates and tracking information when available
• Provide inputs for PMO deliverables and meetings
• Memorize and execute purchasing best practices and procedures
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Strong multitasker with ability to prioritize multiple time sensitive requirements
• Ability to work under very general direction
Minimum Qualifications
0 years experience with Bachelors in related field or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for comparable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
Preferred Requirements
• Knowledge of government or other contracting environment relating to technical, scientific, and analytical services
• Security: Must be a US citizen, currently hold or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
