About this position 

This position will assist in the development of a professional growth program that includes assisting current staff with career and educational goals for growth within the organization.  


What you’ll be doing 

  • Working in tandem with the professional growth specialist to identify the organization’s goals toward professional development for new hires and current staff; 
  • Acquiring a working knowledge of all organization position requirements and duties; 
  • Assisting with the review, interpretation, and recordkeeping of college transcripts to provide guidance on educational goals that would either allow applicants to be considered for employment or current staff to become eligible for advancement; 
  • Assisting in the development of bridge programs with local colleges to introduce ECE students to the organization and pair them with apprenticeship and/or practicum opportunities; 
  • Meeting with interested staff on an individual basis (in person, virtually, or over the phone) to identify and evaluate growth opportunities; 
  • Communicating with potential applicants to discuss educational qualifications for future employment; 
  • Coordinating and conducting growth opportunity workshops, including creating, developing, and revising workshop materials, handouts, and packets; 
  • Organizing college classes to be offered at agency facilities or with partner organizations; 
  • Assisting staff in completing required forms to be reimbursed for college courses; 
  • Reading and implementing organization and program policies and procedures; 
  • Accurately completing assigned paperwork and documentation on a timely basis according to organization policies and procedures;  
  • Actively participating in staff meetings and annual in-service; 
  • Attending trainings as required;  
  • Performing other duties as assigned.  

What you bring to the table 

  • Associate’s degree in a related field of study that has prepared applicant for the duties and responsibilities of this position (years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement); 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study (preferred); 
  • Two years of increasingly responsible experience related to the creation and implementation of professional development programs; 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Windows-based programs and data entry; 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to honor confidentiality; 
  • Experience working for nonprofit and/or early learning organizations (preferred); 
  • Knowledge of the Commission on Teaching Credentialing (CTC) and the Child Development Training Consortium (CDTC);   
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete projects under multiple deadlines; 
  • Experience with Paylocity HRIS (preferred).

Job specifications 

  • Reports to the training and professional development manager; 
  • Full-time, 12-month work year; 
  • Eight-hour workday; Four-day work week; 
  • Opportunity for hybrid-work schedule may be available and to be determined by management; 
  • Limited evening or weekend hours may be required; 
  • Employment, responsibilities, compensation and other factors may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the organization’s contracts, or at the organization’s discretion. 

Salary 

  • $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
