Team Leader - Shipping and Receiving – Greenfield Indiana
Standard schedule is Monday through Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm. Overtime during the week is typically 6:00am – 3:30pm and Saturdays when needed. Schedules are subject to change based on business need.

Team Leader - Shipping and Receiving
The Shipping and Receiving Team Leader lead team members in coordinating and executing the timely and accurate shipment of products to customers and internal stakeholders. This position has responsibilities in administration, shipping workflow, shipping scheduling, and work assignments. Provides work directions, coaching/mentoring to other Shipping Coordinators that are responsible for shipping product. Does not have supervisory responsibility or authority in the areas of personnel actions.
What You Will Do:
- Leads team in staging and loading finished manufactured goods or other material to be sent to internal stakeholders or external customers.
- Ensure Shipping Coordinators follow instructions, established procedures, and comply with domestic and international shipping regulations.
- Safely operate and oversee the use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Coordinate shipment scheduling with carriers and internal departments to meet delivery goals.
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate shipping documents (bills of lading, packing slips, labels) and enter shipment data into ERP/MRP systems.
- Verify shipment contents against orders and packing lists; investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies and claims.
- Ensure proper packaging and loading to minimize damage and maintain accurate inventory and material movement documentation.
- Adhere to safety protocols, utilize PPE, report safety hazards, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Collaborate and communicate with team members, supervisors, engineers, and quality personnel to address challenges and improve processes.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for the shipping team and train new team members on shipping processes, techniques, tools, and safety protocols.
- Ability to influence and motivate team members effectively without formal authority.
- Provide input on process improvements, cost-saving opportunities, and resource allocation to management.
- Demonstrate flexibility by cross-training, adapting to new processes or technologies, and working overtime as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of shipping and material experience required.
- Forklift operations experience preferred.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles preferred.
- Familiarity with quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping and material movement.
- Basic computer literacy, including data entry, basic knowledge of ERP systems, and ability to use barcode scanners.
- Ability to use proper lifting techniques and material movement equipment effectively.
- Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to handle material and parts.
- Perform repetitive motions (bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping, and grasping with hands).
- Standing Duration: Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift.
- Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75lbslbs.

- Ability to work in environments with noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes.
