The Associate People (HR) Business Intelligence position is a key member of the Compensation & People Analytics team. This position has two core focuses: the first being centered around executing data and analytics work for the full HR department. Focus will be on building dashboards with BI tools (Looker, Power BI) and creating visualization to measure department KPIs against goals of our total People Department strategy. The second core duty is execution and administration of our compensation activities. These two core focuses will have significant overlap, and time split between each will vary throughout the year based on business need. This role is a great entry point for somebody with strong technical, analytical skills, and will pave the way for a career path into a wide variety of potential areas, both within and outside of the People Department. BI & Analytics

  • Utilizes advanced data manipulation skill sets to administer compensation activities, with an eye for process improvement and automation.

  • Takes raw data from a variety of sources and cleans and transforms it to create automated dashboarding and reporting to bring visibility to departmental and organizational key performance indicators. Examples include turnover, retention, employee relations, staffing, engagement, benefits, and exit interview data. 

  • Partners cross-functionally with HR Technology and IT Analytics teams to build automation, reducing manual reporting requirements and innovating through technology

  • Researches data and analytics industry trends, specifically within the People (human resources) field, and recommends process improvements to how we obtain and utilize data.

  • Acts as a consultant to other People Department teams (Learning & Development, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition), understanding their business objectives, highlighting trends, and developing insights to aid in business decision making.

Compensation

  • Conducts job and market pay analysis to determine appropriate salary recommendation on jobs, as well as FLSA classifications.

  • Partners with Talent team on in depth pay analysis to ensure fair, equitable, and competitive total rewards offerings. 

  • Administers bonus programs on a quarterly and annual basis for all functions across the enterprise, including configuration of spreadsheets/workbooks, and communication of results to employees/business leaders

  • Administers pay changes, with an emphasis on end-of-year performance based merit increases and market adjustments for employees across the organization; administers supplemental pay inputs for items like geographical differentials, auto stipends, and phone stipends.

  • Works on strategic projects such as pay banding for all areas of the organization, with a heavy emphasis on retail store and cross-functional partnerships with retail leadership. 

  • Analyzes compensation programs for compliance, trends and prevailing practices among similar organizations.

  • Administers compliance programs, specifically related to pay, including minimum wage increase processes, supporting job posting requirements for publishing pay, and Fair Labor Standards Act changes.

  • Maintains, updates, and improves the documentation and automation of all of the above, on a continual basis and in response to changing business needs.

  • Conducts regular audits of various compensation programs.

  • Additional duties and projects as assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, preferably with a concentration in business, finance, or data/analytics. Additional 1 - 3 years of professional experience preferred, in either a data and analytics role or compensation role, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience, or a keen interest, in HR data and analytics is a plus. Proven track record in school,
