Job Description:
The EMSC program addresses the unique medical needs of children by improving emergency medical services systems in areas such as prevention, pre-hospital EMS care, hospital-based care, rehabilitation, and re-entry of the child into the community.
Job Duties:
• Overseeing the management and coordination of the Health Resources and Services Administration Emergency Medical Services Grant for Children.
• Work closely with the program director, family representative, the EMSC Advisory Committee, hospitals, EMS Services, and providers, and act as a liaison to the federal EMSC Program.
• Manage all goals and objections related to the EMSC grant which are addressed in nine program-specific performance measures. These measures can be found here: https://emscimprovment.center/programs/partnerships/performance-measures/
• Manage day-to-day operations of the EMSC grant including meeting federal reporting deadlines and collecting required data from pre-hospital agencies and hospital emergency departments.
• Oversee the EMSC Advisory Committee, program strategic planning and act as a liaison for pediatric emergency care knowledge in Nebraska.
• Participation in program-sponsored quality learning collaboratives as well as program-sponsored meetings and workshops.
Schedule Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Evening and weekend hours may be required.
Requirements/ Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent coursework/training, in public administration, social/behavioral sciences, healthcare, human services, or other program-related field. Professional experience working in a human/social service or health care agency with responsibility for planning or evaluation services, programs, or operational policies and practices may substitute in lieu of the educational requirement.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior or current experience as an EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic or as an emergency department nurse. Experience with pediatric care is highly recommended.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Contract Management Experience
- Experience in program planning and development.
- Experience in data collection and budgeting.
- Experience collaborating with and educating stakeholders both within the State and nationally.
- Federal grants experience helpful.
