About the role

JOB DESCRIPTION: Oversees and manages staff . Plans, implements, coordinates, and evaluates clinical programs to ensure optimal pharmaceutical care for patients. Provides pharmaceutical care to patients to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes. Participates in independent or collaborative projects that improve patient care or resolve clinical problems and participates in scholarly activities. Monitors and evaluates drug therapy to promote rational, safe, and cost-effective, medication use within the institution. Builds community and teamwork both inside and outside of the department to create and maintain a positive work environment. Mentors staff members in the areas of responsibility to facilitate and reinforce learning.  Maintains responsibility for quality of patient care, utilization, quantity, and cost of resources. Fulfills the roles of innovator, leader, and facilitator in areas of responsibility to ensure continuous quality improvement. Fulfills a commitment to meet or exceed customer expectations. This individual will have multiple direct reports (pharmacists, technicians, and clerks). In addition to the core responsibilities of a manager, this individual will be responsible for execution of strategic initiatives as assigned by Pharmacy Program Director II.

What You Will Need:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) is required.
  • Current state pharmacist license in good standing through North Carolina Board of Pharmacy is required.

Nice To Have (Not Required):

  • Completion of a Residency program is preferred. 
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years pharmacy management experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
  • The ideal candidate for this position would be a high energy individual with previous experience and/or advanced training.

    • Leadership skills
    • Ability to train, supervise, and lead a team of individuals.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize workflow and activities.
    • Positive attitude.

    • Keen attention to detail and demonstrated understanding of pertinent rules and regulations.
