Group Manager, Exteriors, Exterior Systems Procurement

We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Group Manager with a focus on Exterior Systems. The Group Manager leads a team of Global Supply Managers and oversees all company business with a group of exteriors suppliers. The role is a key internal interface with Engineering, Finance, Logistics, Quality and Manufacturing to deliver world class products on time and cost effectively. The Group Manager must identify, develop, and manage the global supply chain for their team and manage against the overall supply chain team and company priorities. He or she will help establish our global supply chain strategy, support cross-functional teams during the development and industrialization phases and drive sound business decisions throughout the product life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of supply chain professionals
- Drive strategic sourcing initiatives for exterior systems
- Oversee supplier relationship management and performance
- Ensure alignment between supply chain strategies and organizational goals
- Manage budget and cost reduction efforts for assigned commodities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain processes
- Implement risk management strategies for the supply chain
- Drive continuous improvement in supply chain operations
You Will:
- Present strategic updates and issue resolutions to upper management
- Guide RFQ processes, quotation analyses, and sourcing recommendations
- Supervise contract negotiations for parts, tooling, and engineering services
- Coordinate part releases and PO issuances for prototypes and production
- Manage supplier development, tooling timelines, and part availability
- Ensure timely resolution of commercial issues and provide status reports
- Travel 15-25% for supplier business and program reviews
You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain, with focus on Exterior systems
- Proven track record in team leadership and mentoring
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for exterior systems
- Experience in product launches from design to production
- Expertise in quality principles and product development processes
- Excellence in analytical thinking, negotiation, and problem-solving
- Ability to manage complex supplier relationships and resolve disputes effectively
- Strong communication skills and program management capabilities
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
- Strategic mindset with hands-on execution skills
- Demonstrated ability to mitigate unforeseen problems creatively
- Commitment to driving team success and achieving organizational goals
This role is full-time onsite Monday-Friday in our Newark, CA location and does not offer a remote or hybrid option at this time.
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
