The Oregon State Hospital, a division of the Oregon Health Authority has an exciting opportunity for a Trades Maintenance Supervisor to join an excellent team working to help people recover from their illness and return to their lives in the community.
Oregon State Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited and Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)-certified public psychiatric hospital providing services on two campuses to persons committed by the Oregon courts as part of the state mental health system.

This position falls under the classification of Construction and Facility Maintenance Supervisor 2. This is a full-time, permanent, management service position which is not represented by a union.
What you will do!
As the Trades Maintenance Supervisor, you will direct and monitor the work performed by employees assigned to the Facility Services Department and outside contractors. The Trades Maintenance Supervisor ensures the Oregon State Hospital follows all applicable rules, policies, procedures and it works toward providing viable systems approach to maintenance and trades operations. For example, the development of Preventative Maintenance programs and processes to ensure the hospital is always ready for a survey from the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) or other agencies such as, OR-OSHA, Licensing, or Sanitation agencies. This position works toward the Mission of Oregon State Hospital.

What we are looking for:
Minimum Qualifications (Construction and Facility Maintenance Supervisor 2 Classification):
Three years of lead work, foreman work, or supervision experience.
OR one year of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position AND completion of an accredited vocational-training or construction-training program related to the class concept.
OR one year of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Note: Valid Oregon Driver’s License required.

Strong employee management experience.
Experience and demonstrated leadership success in directing and managing facilities and support operations teams to bring about a workplace culture that is respectful, inclusive, equitable, and trauma informed and focused on workplace safety.
Skill and ability to communicate effectively with leadership, management, employees, and patients.
Strong background in model public works contracting and state of Oregon procurement rules.
Experience creating, promoting, welcoming, and maintaining a culturally competent and diverse work environment.
