We are currently seeking an experienced mechanical maintenance supervisor to lead the daily work for a team of mechanics, as well as manage shutdowns, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and operational success.

Compensation

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  At ND Paper, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.
  • Lead and supervise the mechanical crew promoting safety, clean production, reliability and precision maintenance.
  • Actively be a safety leader by engaging maintenance crew in daily safety discussions.
  • Execute planned and unplanned work, including shutdown plans, to meet department goals.
  • Forward thinking to help drive innovation and decision making.
  • Utilize SAP as intended and in accordance with maintenance standards.
  • Apply concepts of precision maintenance to ensure equipment is properly maintained and repaired.
  • Focus on eliminating failures to reduce machine downtime by ensuring proper preventative maintenance is completed and shutdown and routine work is properly executed.
  • Supervises, and works closely with area’s maintenance planner and reliability engineer,  along with production counterparts to execute work and improve equipment reliability.
  • Coach and develop maintenance crews through training and problem resolution.
  • Work with counterparts throughout organization to understand mill wide needs and support others as needed.

Required Experience:

  • Candidate should have at least 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferably in a paper mill environment.  
  • Candidate must possess strong supervisor skills.
  • Candidate must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Candidate must be flexible, and able to manage multiple priorities, both short and long term in nature.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management. 

Preferred Experience:

  • A minimum of an associate’s degree in mechanical discipline is preferred but not required.
  • Experience supervising mechanical maintenance in a paper manufacturing facility preferred.
