Director of PMO – ERP Modernization (SAP S/4HANA)

Job Summary:

The Director of PMO – ERP Modernization will be responsible for leading the ERP implementations or ERP Transformation projects and helping the establishment of an ERP Modernization Program Management Office (PMO), overseeing the implementation, upgrade, and transformation of SAP S/4HANA or SAP Cloud products. This role requires direct project delivery ownership and contributing to the evolution of the ERP Modernization PMO to enhance governance, execution, and best practices across the organization. This leadership role requires deep SAP ERP solutions, project governance, and enterprise transformation expertise. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction, ensure alignment with business objectives, and drive excellence in project execution and delivery.

• SAP S/4HANA Implementation & Modernization: Lead the end-to-end implementation, upgrade, and transformation of SAP S/4HANA or SAP Cloud products, ensuring seamless integration with business operations.
• PMO Leadership & Governance: Establish and lead the ERP Modernization PMO, defining processes, methodologies, and best practices to ensure the successful execution of SAP S/4HANA transformation projects.
• Program & Project Management: Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, risk mitigation strategies, and performance metrics for ERP modernization initiatives.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Function as a key liaison between business leaders, IT teams, vendors, and implementation partners, ensuring alignment of ERP modernization initiatives with business goals.
• Resource & Budget Management: Oversee resource allocation, budget planning, and financial controls to optimize project efficiency and maximize ROI.
• Change Management & Adoption: Drive organizational change management strategies to facilitate smooth transition, end-user training, and successful adoption of SAP solutions.
• Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure adherence to industry best practices, security standards, and compliance requirements related to SAP ERP transformation.
• Continuous Improvement: Establish mechanisms for continuous evaluation and improvement of project methodologies, tools, and performance.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in ERP transformation programs, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role, leading the implementation and transformation/upgrades of SAP S/4HANA and SAP Cloud Solutions.
• Minimum of two SAP ECC or S/4HANA implementation experiences and two S/4HANA transformation or upgrade project experiences.
• Experience in SAP S/4HANA migration, deployment, and upgrades, including project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid frameworks.
• Proven record of setting up and leading an organization’s ERP modernization PMO.
• Strong understanding of enterprise business processes related to SAP ERP and S/4HaNA systems across sales, purchasing, inventory management and warehousing, manufacturing, logistics, finance, supply chain, and HR.
• Expertise in stakeholder management at any level and executive-level communications.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks and security best practices for ERP implementations.
• Strong communication, facilitation, analytical, strategic thinking, and critical thinking skills.
• Expertise in collaboration, risks and issues management, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to multitask, work independently with minimal supervision, and demonstrate initiative-taking qualities.
• Relevant certifications such as SAP Activate, PMP, ITIL, or Agile certifications are highly desirable.
• Travel required up to 100%.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of SAP Products and their core capabilities relevant to business applications.
• Experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and cloud integration strategies
