Position Overview:

• Understands ultrasound principles and theory, anatomy, positioning, and technique for obtaining optimal imaging studies.
• Assists physicians in the performance of various studies using standard department protocols and sterile procedures and infection control procedures.
• Adheres to department policies and protocols to ensure that all studies are optimized for interpretation.
• Performs excellent patient care. Demonstrates patient safety by use of guard rails, breaking mechanisms, shielding and patient monitoring.
• Recognizes clinical and emergent problems that may interfere with exams and takes action to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcome.
• Identifies patients and files to ensure a high degree of accuracy. Enters written and electronic data and provides all pertinent data to radiologists to assist in the interpretation of imaging studies
