Essential Job Functions:

  • Accompany the provider into the patient exam room in order to transcribe a history and physical examination, along with the assessment and plan
  • Provides real time documentation, accurately of the physician’s encounter with the patient and care giver(s) into the electronic medical record
  • Lists patient’s chief complaint, patient history, primary diagnoses, and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as directed by the provider
  • Documents any procedures performed by the provider
  • Creates orders for any further testing ordered by the provider
  • Maintains professional decorum at all times
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively
  • Must be able to act calmly and professionally in a busy office setting/stressful situation
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

·         Undergraduate degree in healthcare or science field

·         Working knowledge of medical terminology

       ·         Computer proficiency and ability to adapt to changing workflows
