The Sr. Manager, Construction Scheduling role at Hanwha Q CELLS USA Corp. is a strategic position tailored for a seasoned professional adept at overseeing planning and scheduling functions for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. The incumbent will spearhead the development of project construction scheduling strategies, focusing on refining Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) specific to self-perform construction execution, establishing standard processes, and utilizing Primavera P6 for both execution and commercial management within construction project teams. This leadership role aims to enhance project planning, execution, and commercial management efficiency through rigorous schedule analysis and fostering a culture of precision and accountability. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Commercial Management, or another management personnel that the team lead may designate. This position is a remote assignment, and working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time. Overtime and weekend working hours may be required as needed. This position is expected to travel up to 10%. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead planning and scheduling processes for large-scale projects, integrating them with commercial management strategies to improve project delivery.
  • Develop and implement operational scheduling processes, policies, and tools to support project execution.
  • Establish and maintain Primavera P6 database governance within the department.
  • Develop construction scheduling standards for self-perform projects, including WBS, float management policy, weather impact, and other guidance for standardized scheduling approaches.
  • Oversee the integration of earned value management processes with scheduling processes.
  • Adapt industry best practices to enhance the competitiveness of the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Primavera P6 into summary reporting, ensuring alignment with project objectives and operational requirements.
  • Hire and lead a team of planning and scheduling professionals, providing guidance, oversight, and fostering professional development.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly reviews of project team deliverables, offering constructive feedback and development plans to improve performance.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of project schedules to identify potential delays or constraints and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Recommend adjustments to project schedules to ensure alignment with project goals and timely completion.
  • Ensure effective communication with project and executive management for timely decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting standards and project management methods.
  • Develop and implement tracking standards, particularly for contractual and construction milestones.
  • Collaborate with internal Project Control to meet all reporting needs.
  • Contribute to preconstruction and subcontractor plan reviews.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Senior Management.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Over 4 years of planning and scheduling experience in engineering and construction projects, with proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in renewable energy construction or related fields.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated work ethic with the ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, and relevant tools.
  • Detailed knowledge of all phases of solar PV power plant construction.
  • Solid experience with current solar EPC tools and processes, staying updated on industry best practices and trends.
  • Proven track record of initiating and implementing standardized processes and procedures.
