Pay: $27-$30 an hour, depending on experience.
Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the Driver Trainer is to implement training programs and procedures designed to prepare new Professional Drivers to perform their job duties safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Promote a safe working culture for all employees; work with safety and field personnel to minimize risk and increase safety for employees at all times
- Drive operational performance and improvements to meet or exceed company goals
- Organize formal training as needed. (Focus on safety, operational improvements, and customer service.)
- Recruits, trains, schedules, directs, and coordinates the training activities of potential drivers in a classroom and or construction field setting
- Review DOT Records and ensure we are compliant with all applicable laws and policies
- Work with Construction, HR and Operations Manager to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.
- Informs, educates, facilitates, and ensures that Company drivers carry out their duties in the most efficient manner possible.
- Ensure proper Driver Training Orientation, Smith System Driver Training, Mentoring, etc. is being conducted to create a safe and knowledgeable workforce from day one. (Partner with Safety and HR)
- Conduct regular inspections and work with Safety Manager to correct any deficiencies
- Maintain and apply knowledge of current safety policies, regulations, and industrial processes
- Establishes, records, and keeps up all paperwork related to drivers
- Create, Maintain and Update various files, spreadsheets and databases related to performance of all drivers on a weekly and regular basis
- Assist in the internal investigation of driving compliance issues.
- Assist in ongoing safety training and coaching of existing drivers
- Works in cooperation with all departments.

Education/Experience
- Associates degree or three (3) or four (4) years of experience supervising and scheduling drivers
