Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior SQL Server DBA to manage our critical database systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SQL Server, strong problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of optimizing database performance, ensuring high availability, and implementing robust security measures.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain our SQL Server database infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
- Design, implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, Replication, and database mirroring.
- Perform routine database administration tasks, including backup and recovery, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with application developers to optimize database design, queries, and stored procedures for performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues in production and non-production environments. 
- Tune SQL Server databases through query optimization, indexing strategies and system level adjustments 
- Monitor database health and performance using Idera SQL DM, Query Store and native SQL Server DMV’s
- Establish and enforce security policies and access controls to protect sensitive data.
- Lead database-related projects, including version upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior DBAs and team members.
- Stay current with the latest SQL Server developments and best practices.
- Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical systems. 

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7-10 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server database administration.
- Experience in Financial Industry is highly desired.
- Proficiency in T-SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Strong expertise in implementing and managing high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Knowledge of database security best practices, including encryption and auditing.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation.
- Project management skills and the ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and switch to higher priority tasks when required.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to accept new challenges as an opportunity to learn and increase skill set.
- High level of motivation, initiative and attention to detail when performing tasks.
- Microsoft SQL Server certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) are a plus.
- Experience with IDERA software is a plus.
 

   

Salary Range

$120,000 - $140,000

BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
