2nd Shift Production Supervisor

Description

Summary: Responsibility for coordinating all warehouse “stock to dock” activities on a daily, shift or team basis for our facility and the Distribution Centers it supports. Responsible for cycle counting and inventory accuracy at or higher than 98% accuracy in a manner consistent with company customer service and cost objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan and schedule all distribution pick services to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Responsible for picking all programs and saleable items for transfer to distribution Centers.
• Ensure that customer orders are picked and staged in a timely fashion within prescribed cost levels.
• Develop and implement an effective put-away, cycle counting and picking operation that minimizes cost and ensures work flow and paperwork is processed accurately and promptly.
• Counts/verifies and records all material coming into or shipping out of the building, ensuring that all material is properly counted.
• Assist in the development and deployment of Inventory Control System for physical inventories and cycle counts. Ensure the optimal utilization of warehouse/stockroom space.
• Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion. Compute and analyze daily, weekly dock throughput metrics.
• Ensures the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding warehouse and distribution operations.
• Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining warehouse security. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety; ensure compliance in accordance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.

Requirements

Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

• Broad knowledge of warehouse operations and technology.
• Familiarity with warehouse, inventory and computer systems.
• Ability to pick, pack, load, and put away boxes up to 50 pounds.
• A broad range of management skills is required with particular emphasis on leadership, supervision, motivation, communication, and planning.
• Must be able to travel overnight on an “as needed” basis.
• Lean, Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus.
• Ability to scale an operation, without sacrificing quality, efficiency and reliability, during periods of rapid growth.
• 3-5 years of Warehousing, Logistics, Materials, Distribution, Supply Chain experience
