Collins Aerospace is seeking an Onsite EEE Component Quality Engineering professional with an engineering/technical degree. This position manages Quality Engineering processes and/or projects as an individual contributor with a focus on Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical devices and to set and achieve objectives that have a major impact on the organizational goals. Uses expertise to provide input on the development, modification, application, and maintenance of quality evaluation, control systems, and protocols. Position requires on-site support (not eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements).

This is an ONSITE position located in Rockford, IL. This position may be eligible for relocation and sign on bonus.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide Quality support with a focus on Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical devices as a subject matter expert on various programs within the business unit.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers as it relates to Escapes, Quality Management System Procedures, Regulations and Compliance related questions with a focus on EEE components.
  • Gain familiarity with customer quality requirements and ensure robust flow down and implementation of requirements through internal producer sites and major subcontractors.
  • Take a lead role and follow current standard work in execution of escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning & implementation.
  • Drive processes to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols.
  • Manage and disposition nonconforming material and process noncompliance events.
  • Provide analysis and explanations of testing and inspection plans, methods, and technologies to assure reliability and conformance of products and processes
  • Ensure that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.
  • Assist in activities associated with supplier quality, warranty process, part purges and MRB activities
  • Develop proactive quality initiative strategies and drive their implementation.
  • Responsible for both Program and Product Quality Engineering.
  • This position is relocation eligible.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience with a focus on EEE components or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience with a focus on EEE components or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with NASA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per NASA’s regulation SUBPART 1835.5 Drug- Free Workforce

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AS9100 Experience
  • MRB Experience
  • Advanced degree in engineering or related field
