What you will do:
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) works directly with people with disabilities in a center-based setting, assisting them with personal care and projects as needed.
- Communication – Speak clearly; listen to others; write effectively; establish relationships; act with integrity; establish trust
- Ensures compliance with all applicable legal requirements and accreditations standards. Ensures that all department activities are conducted in a manner that is consistent with Rise’s Code of Conduct, CARF standards, and HIPAA policies and procedures
- Provide direct support for people with disabilities
- Assist with life enrichment activities to advance the work and social skills of persons served
- Model appropriate behavior and interactions?
- Provide case management support as necessary
- Current, valid driver’s license?
- Assist with lifting and transferring adults to/from wheelchairs and assist with personal care
- Continually inspire personal growth in the people you support by establishing and achieving personal goals and implementing person-centered practices
- Input information into data management system
- Design innovative community integration activities (volunteering, outdoor, social)?and support persons served on these community outings
- Provide daily transportation of persons supported in Rise’ vans and buses
Level 2 Requirements:
- Provide case management support as necessary
- Current, valid driver’s license
- A driving record that demonstrates safe, legal driving habits
- Maintain medication administration certification
Requirements
What you will need:
- Technology skills: Comfortable working with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, etc.). and database management systems. Learn software system to complete minor task
- Current, valid driver’s license and a driving record that demonstrates safe, legal driving habits
- Compliance with DHS (Department of Human Services) Rule 11 and Rise MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) background checks required
- Reliable work attendance
- Ability to work well with others
Preferred Education, Experience, and other Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a social services organization is preferred.
- Experience practicing person-centered techniques with people with disabilities
- Detail-oriented, results-driven, efficient, and communicative.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.

- Starting Wage: $18.36 - $19.38 per hour, depending on experience (No evenings, weekends, or major holidays)
