Location: Adult Residential - 17645 NW St. Helens Hwy, Portland, OR 97231
Schedule: This is an in person position; Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Occasional weekends and evenings required.

Wage Range: $21.95 hourly, Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

 

The NARA NW Child Care Workers play a vital role in nurturing and supporting young children’s development. They create a safe, engaging environment where children can explore, learn, and grow. Child Care Workers are responsible for providing care and supervision for children whose parents are receiving and participating in NARA’s health and wellness services and special events.

 

What you will do:

 

Provide education and recreational activities for children.
Notify Children’s Case Manager and the Child Development Center Managers of children’s progress or problems regarding childcare.
Help facilitate ASQ questionnaire/SE for all children within required timeframes
Keep documentation daily of child’s progress.
Know and practice child safety policies and procedures in manual and complete required PSU training.
Assures the safety of children and maintains a safe environment.
Follow Policies and procedures per Nara NW, DELC, DHS, and OSHA regulations
Prepare and serve snacks to children.

QualificationsWe would like to hear from people that have:


Either a High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certification required.
Must be registered on the Central Background Registry
Must pass a pre-employment or for cause drug tests
Must pass a criminal background and DMV checks
Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community preferred
Two years' experience in the field of childcare relevant to duties and responsibilities noted above preferred
