Requirements: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Eligible candidates must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
This is not an entry level position. A master’s degree in life/physical sciences coupled with two or more years of professional experience is preferred. A bachelor’s degree or four years of professional experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position is preferred.

The Division of Habitat & Species Conservation is comprised of six Sections and two offices. The Wildlife Diversity Conservation Section (WDC) is seeking qualified applicants for the Northwest Regional Species Conservation Biologist.

This position is located in the Northwest Regional Office in Panama City Florida. No alternative office locations are considered at this time. Full time or partial telework is not available.
Description of Duties: The individual in this position will serve as the Regional Biologist in the WDC Regional Operations Team for the 16-county Northwest Region. This is an exciting opportunity to positively influence wildlife conservation within the panhandle, lead a talented team of dedicated staff, and work collaboratively with partners and the public to achieve conservation goals.
This position is responsible for coordinating and conducting all aspects of nongame wildlife conservation, including leading or supporting the implementation of conservation programs for state and federally listed species in the panhandle. This is a supervisor-level position which requires recruiting, training, and supervising staff, budget management and purchasing, directing work priorities, and ensuring staff compliance with agency rules, policies, and procedures.
