Position Overview:  

 

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Child and Family Support Services Program. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, intervention, and support to children with developmental, physical, and sensory challenges. This role is vital in helping children achieve their maximum potential and enhancing their quality of life.

The Occupational Therapist II may supervise occupational therapy students. This position will contribute to program development, evaluation, and performance improvement.

Responsibilities

Provide ongoing home- and/or center-based occupational therapy, parent training, and family support services, utilizing a range of techniques to engage children and families.

Provide home- and center-based occupational therapy assessments for children. Work cooperatively with families to determine concerns, goals, and an intervention plan.

Initiate and maintain contact with referral sources and other KKI and community providers to assist in the coordination of services and to foster productive relationships in the community.

Demonstrate clinical expertise in a specialty area and function as a mentor in this area of specialization.

Meet all assigned revenue goals, and complete all paperwork in a manner consistent with Institute and departmental expectations, as well as the guidelines established by CARF and The Joint Commission.

Function as a member of the Child and Family Support Program through active participation in team conferences and meetings, and providing technical assistance, training, and support to other team members. Initiate and participate in projects which contribute to the growth of the Child and Family Support Program (e.g., groups, workshops, special projects, and trainee supervision).

Qualifications

• Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation required.
• Individual must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and families served by KKI.
• Clinical care focus is on the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, as well as some adults with disabilities.

 

EDUCATION:

• Must have bachelor’s degree in an approved occupational therapy program.
• Must have successfully completed the national registration examination and/or licensed as required by Maryland State Law.

 

EXPERIENCE:

• Three years’ licensed experience in Occupational Therapy, with at least two years documented experience in area of specialty, required.
• Experience in pediatrics and/or rehabilitation and treatment preferred.
• Experience in coordinating community services preferred.

USD $61,845.47/Yr.

Maximum pay range

USD $109,392.40/Yr.
