The Impact You Will Have in This Role
This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for driving the modernization of DTCC’s Credit Risk applications, including the transformation of a legacy, Oracle‑centric platform into a modern, cloud‑native solution built on Snowflake.
In this role, you will lead a cross‑functional team of developers and testers while also contributing directly through hands‑on design and development. You will play a critical role in re‑architecting data models, externalizing business logic into Python‑based services, and delivering a configurable, resilient Credit Risk platform designed to meet evolving regulatory, audit, and business requirements.
The resulting platform will support critical counterparty onboarding, monitoring, and regulatory reporting capabilities across the organization. This role requires a strong balance of technical depth, execution mindset, and leadership presence in a risk‑ and audit‑sensitive environment.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
Credit Risk Application Modernization
- Lead the end‑to‑end modernization of Credit Risk applications, transitioning legacy functionality from Oracle to Snowflake.
- Drive the extraction of business logic from database‑centric implementations into Python‑based application services.
- Design and implement well‑modeled, flexible Snowflake tables that support configuration‑driven behavior and future change.
- Reduce tight coupling with upstream and downstream systems to improve maintainability, scalability, and adaptability.
- Identify and remediate auditing, control, and resiliency gaps in the legacy architecture.
- Ensure the modernized application meets contemporary standards for resiliency, observability, and operational readiness.
Technical Leadership & Hands‑On Contribution
- Serve as the technical authority for Snowflake, Python, and data‑driven application design within the Credit Risk domain.
- Contribute directly through hands‑on development, design reviews, and complex problem‑solving.
- Define and evolve the target‑state architecture for the Credit Risk platform with future regulatory and business change in mind.
- Provide architectural guidance across AWS cloud environments and OpenShift‑based container platforms.
- Partner closely with data, application, infrastructure, and risk stakeholders to deliver secure and scalable solutions.
Team & Delivery Leadership
- Lead a cross
