Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, talented Software Development Engineering intern for the development and maintenance of Design Automation Infrastructure at Western Digital. Interns in this group can expect to learn about and gain experience in the following areas:

1. Engage in the development of our simulation automation infrastructure for the design process, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

2. Utilize machine learning and data analytics techniques to optimize the design process, develop a design recommendation system, identify anomalies, and support failure analysis.

3. Develop and maintain software tools to streamline simulation workflows, mitigate human error, and enhance the analysis of simulation results.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Currently enrolled in a PhD or MS Program in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related quantitative/engineering field with a graduation date between Fall 2024-Summer 2025.
• Experience/coursework/research in machine learning, deep learning highly preferred; firm understanding of statistical modeling and data analytics concepts
• Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C, etc
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving ability
• Good communication, relationship skills and a team player
• Ability to participate in a full-time internship between Jun-September 

PREFERRED:

• Knowledge in structural, thermal or mechanical in package engineering. 
• Interested in semiconductor industry
