DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is currently looking to add a Transportation Project Manager to be a part of our Minneapolis, MN Team. The ideal candidate will work remotely, based in our Minneapolis office, and focus on delivering transportation projects for a wide variety of clients. Ideal candidates will demonstrate expertise with project delivery for these clients.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervises the preparation of plans for road and highway design.
• Coordinates tasks and project schedules and budgets.
• Performs QA/QC reviews of drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
• Communicates with clients regarding project issues, leads meetings as necessary.
• Coordinates with engineers and technicians to ensure accurate deliverables meeting client expectations.
• Supervises the preparation of studies, construction documents, calculations, maps, reports, and other supporting documentation to support road and highway design.
• Reviews quantities and construction cost estimates prepared by others.
• Prepares or reviews project technical specifications.
• Performs detailed technical and peer reviews.
• Serves as the project 'task manager;' responsible for all facets of the task or discipline of the project.
• Responsible for document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits
• Responsible for maintaining technical knowledge through completion of various training initiatives: attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, attending in-house systems/management training.
• Responsible for maintaining professional licensure.
• Occasionally visits project sites, monitoring project progress.
• Participate in professional organizations and events

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s Degree is a plus
• At least 10 years of related experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• High level of proficiency with various CAD and Microsoft Office programs with the ability to produce high quality design documents, exhibits, computations, and reports
• Possess excellent client facing skills and ability to enhance and develop client relationships
• Proven experience in working on multiple projects concurrently
• Ability to work independently and within a team setting to support related projects and assignments 
• Ability to assist in developing strategic approaches and concepts
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills

COMPENSATION 

The approximate compensation range for this position is $110,229 to $190,958. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
