Sitting at the intersection of healthcare transformation and senior care, Humana’s Primary Care Organization (PCO) takes a comprehensive approach to senior primary care, home health and pharmacy. The PCO is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Lead to assist the Transformation Management Office (TMO) and the Primary Care Organization (PCO) Finance team in managing the overall transformation program that will be responsible for driving value to the PCO business and will play a key role in measuring and analyzing value delivered by the program, as well as reporting out to leadership on the financial valuation changes/opportunities and model impacts. This value will be delivered through key levers that are both clinical and operational in nature.Responsibilities
The Financial Planning & Analysis Lead will work closely with the TMO Initiative Project Managers, TMO Strategic Advancement Advisor and enterprise Finance partners to support the overall transformation program, ensure the organization is set up for success as it navigates a wide array of changes and have leadership responsibilities to prepare PowerPoint slides, analyze, measure track and report out on progress of the program. This will entail working broadly across PCO leadership and initiative owners to understand the end-to-end transformation plan, creating and updating financial models for accuracy and big picture impacts to ensure TMO hits their value targets, aligning with relevant stakeholders on analyses and properly reflecting initiatives’ progress, and reporting to Steering Committee and leadership teams with updates. It will also entail creating historical baselines, establishing key metrics to track, evaluating whether initiatives are tracking to meet financial targets, sharing financial updates with the TMO and executive leaders, partnering with PCO’s finance team to incorporate findings into budgets and forecasts, and analyzing key drivers of performance.
Overall, this role will ensure the TMO transformation initiatives are delivering value, tracking to business outcomes, and are on track to deliver on promises to our Business Leaders and respective Board of Directors.
Impact of the Role:
- As the central point of contact for all Finance-related topics, this Finance Lead’s consolidated view of the program will assess strategic impacts of the Transformation Management Office initiatives broadly through quantifying, modeling, tracking, updating and presenting value metrics to ensure that initiatives are on track to meet their targets.
Key responsibilities:
- Understanding big picture of Transformation Management Office and impacts on financials
- Stakeholder management across Initiative Owners, PCO Leadership and Finance Partners
- Manage end-to-end financial tracking process, including driving process mechanics, maintaining relevant templates, and identifying key counterparts
- Work with PCO Finance to incorporate program impacts into PCO financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term plans
- Partner with TMO Leader and TMO team on leadership and Steering Committee updates
- Creating PowerPoint slides/ stories to provide updates on Financial impacts within the program
- Update financial baseline with latest inputs from Finance
- Regularly collect, sense check, and consolidate financial data
- Consistently socialize financial data with relevant parties to reconcile updates
- Rigor test financial models and sign-off on financial forecasts and roadmaps
- Pre-define financial targets and identify how they can be measured in actuals
- Monitor program progress to pre-defined financial targets
- Identify areas and drivers of over/underperformance
- Develop escalation process for situations with significant initiative deviation from targets
- Conduct regular meetings with Finance to align on Finance-related topics (e.g., investment approval, budget updates, etc.)
- Support in incorporating financial impact from program into key financial statements
- Provide regular progress updates to key stakeholders
- Establish working relationship with key stakeholders within Finance, TMO, and individual workstreams
- Provide support with ad-hoc Finance requests
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally Master’s or strong relevant experience in Financial Reporting and investment analysis
- Healthcare experience, either in the managed care or provider spaces or consulting experience
- Strong Excel skills, previous modelling experience important
- Strong PowerPoint skills, ability to design and share key messages on program’s progress and translate finance data into executive take-aways
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork skills to collaborate with Finance and Initiative
