What You Will Do
Provides leadership for the outpatient program at Mid City Campus. Scope of role includes: operational coordination; quality controls and improvements; regulatory compliance; best use of resources; internal and external customer satisfaction; and professional development of staff. Provides leadership using established management and communication concepts, to implement best practice clinical programs. Responsible for the management of all staff, including hiring, development and performance management.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 Years Experience in a psychiatric setting
  • 1 Year Supervisory experience
  • California BBS Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - CA Board of Behavioral Sciences OR California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing OR California Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) - CA Board of Psychology OR California BBS Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) - CA Board of Behavioral Sciences -REQUIRED


Essential Functions

  • Case management
    Coordinates and manages admission and intake process.
    Complies with payor guidelines on utilization review process to promote optimal reimbursement.
    Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care outcomes are met.
  • Clinical competency
    Completes patient and family assessments, develops and implements appropriate individualized treatment plans in consultation with the medical staff and multi-disciplinary team members.
    Evaluates outcomes of therapeutic interventions for the individuals and populations.
    Documents psychotherapy activity following approved guidelines. Entries include individual and group therapy, discharge planning activities, family intervention/education, and discharge summary where appropriate.
    Completes and/or supervises psychological testing.
  • Community
    Enhances referral development and participates in marketing plan.
    Develops relationships and partners with community programs, contacts, school therapists, community therapist and other referral sources.
    Participates in professional presentations, publications, and organizational representation.
  • Department improvement
    Identifies areas for improvement and works with interdisciplinary team to effect change.
    Leads and/or facilitates evidence-based change that are effective and sustainable quality and fiscal outcomes.
    Evaluates clinical and financial data.
  • Human resource management
    Interviews and collaborates on hiring of staff to the programs.
    Ensure orientation and competency plans for staff.
    Schedules staff and reviews time and attendance.
    Rounds on staff monthly and provides feedback on performance.
    Addresses performance deficits. Seeks accountability for self and others.
    Completes performance appraisal within 30 days.
    Assures employee files are current and complete.
    Builds relationships and rounds consistently with management, clinical staff and physicians using effective communication (verbal, written and presentation skills).
    Provide staff development for assigned staff. Building staff clinical skills and implementing programs that support the successful delivery of quality patient care.
    Supervises psychology interns as assigned.
    Self-accountable and enhances own professional growth through self-evaluation, and setting and meeting own developmental goals.
    Guides others in consistently behaving in accordance with the standards/guidelines regardless of surrounding conditions/activities.
