Overview
Council Office District Director is responsible for Office operations, staff management, legislative coordination, public speaking, represent elected official at internal and external events, budget oversight, constituent case management, interdepartmental coordination.
Key Responsibilities
1 Manage office operations, coordinate legislative activities, and manage constituent relations. Are they supervising people, there is no reference?
2 May serve as the primary advisor to the elected official on political and policy matters.
3 Represent the office in high-level meetings and public events.
4 Track and manage constituent relations.
5 May oversee media relations.
6 Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the office’s goals and objectives.
7 Ensure compliance with the City’s Personnel Rules, and all other applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
8 Coordinate with other government agencies, community organizations, and stakeholders.
9 Draft speeches and talking points for the elected official for various events and engagements.
10 Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to the elected official and other key stakeholders.
11 Manage office budget tracking and inventory.
12 Manage office schedule.
13 Manage councilmember led events and initiatives.
14 Serves as primary card holder for the office.
15 Creating and maintaining cross-departments relationship
16 Provide communication support; draft emails, reports, memos, speeches, presentations, and/or internal and external communications.
17 Support Council Member with strategic planning, project management
18 Constituent Services which includes helping connect residents to City of Dallas resources and information.
19 Assist perspective Boards and Commission members with the application process.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or Public Administration-related field.
Experience
5 years’ experience in government, military, political, non-profit organizations with focus on community development or public service including
3 years of leadership.
Salary Range
