Financial Analyst Project metadata

DEPM is currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team.

The candidate must have a B.S in Accounting required with at least 3-5 years in Property Management. The individual must have strong communication/written skills. Detailed oriented, able to multi-task, work independently and meet deadlines.

The portfolio will consist of approximately 12-15 residential buildings with different outside ownership entities.

The FA is responsible for the following, but not limited to:

Cash Management

• Ensuring that the cash balances are adequate to cover required expenses throughout the year.
• Prepare cash flow reports for ownership as requested and coordinate distributions to same.
• Reconcile bank accounts monthly and as needed throughout the month.
• Commit approved payables for payment and interact with Accounts Payable team as needed.
• Instruct cash management team to wire funds to/from bank accounts on an as needed basis.
• Prepare monthly debt service reporting for payment of mortgages.
• Review non-tenant receipts for posting by AR; interact with Accounts Receivable as needed.

Reporting

• Perform/prepare all necessary month end closing entries/procedures
• Prepare monthly workpapers as required by each property
• Prepare/review monthly reports/packages sent to ownership including variance analysis and GPR reporting
• Prepare special reports required by lender/ownership.
• Most reports are prepared on an accrual basis of accounting so position requires a strong understanding of accrual accounting.

Budget Preparation

• Annual preparation of Operating/Capital Budget(s) as needed based on lender/ownership requirements.

Other

• Provide support and financial data for the annual audit process.
• Respond to emails, phone calls and requests in a timely and professional manner
• Reconcile security deposits on a monthly basis and assist the security deposit team as needed.
• Proficient in excel.
• Yardi 7s or similar accounting software knowledge.
