Senior Facilities Engineer (Warm Springs)

Diamond Foundry
Bay Area, California, United Statesfull_timeVerifiedPosted 12 Apr 2026

About the role

Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.
We seek a Senior Facilities Engineer to join our team in Fremont, CA. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn on the job while working closely with the Facility Manager to support the operations of our four locations in the SF Bay Area.   This will entail assisting the facility manager by being his eyes and ears in his absence, addressing issues in real-time, monitoring health and safety, helping with future facilities planning and build-outs, installation of tools and equipment, and coordination with outside trade contractors and internal stakeholders to provide the means for our technical staff to excel.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee facility utility improvements and tool installations, coordinating with stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to streamline setup and production readiness. Act as the Facilities Manager’s on-site representative when needed, addressing issues in real-time and ensuring smooth operations. Preferred: Experience with AutoCAD or similar software for project planning and layout.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain records related to EH&S (Environmental Health & Safety), including chemical inventories, training documentation, waste management, and treatment systems. Leverage knowledge of hazardous materials and laboratory safety protocols to ensure compliance. Preferred: Hazardous materials training and laboratory experience.
  • Construction & Installation: Assist with facility upgrades for R&D and experiments, including setting up structural supports, anchoring, and bracing for new tools and equipment. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs to ensure proper alignment and safety. Preferred: Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • System Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve issues related to HVAC, process piping, plumbing, and electrical power distribution systems. Apply mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency. Preferred: Mechanical aptitude, “tinkering,” and hands-on experience with tools.
  • Vendor and Contractor Coordination: Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely delivery, quality compliance, and adherence to project specifications. Operate equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts safely when required to facilitate project execution. Preferred: Forklift and scissor lift qualification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Materials Science), Physics, or Chemistry
  • Desire to learn on the job in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or MS Office in preparing spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentations
  • Attention to detail and ability to take careful notes for future reference
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
