WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Filling Medication Drawers Fills unit dose medication drawers to provide patients with 24 hour supply of proper medications. Dispenses medications following the organization's policies and procedures.

• Dispensing/Delivering Medication Prepares and dispenses medications following the organization's policies and procedures. Delivers medication to patient and/or departments. Ensures appropriate handling and storage.

• Supply Inventory Maintenance Maintains drug and supply inventory in distribution areas. Maintains proper storage, inventory and security conditions for medications. Removes unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepares for return or disposal according to departmental guidelines.

• Preparing Sterile Products Prepares hazardous and non-hazardous sterile products using aseptic technique, follows safe handling guidelines for hazardous materials, and complies with set procedures in order to maintain the integrity of compounded sterile products and maintain patient/worker safety. Documents preparation in compliance with applicable standards.

• Responding to Service Requests Retrieves service requests from patient care areas and doctors' offices.

• Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) Inventory Management Manages inventory and non-inventory for assigned ADC stations including replenishing, receiving, rotating, and storage of stock.

• Dispensing Audits Performs audits of medication dispensing activity and documentation to ensure compliance with all regulatory, professional and organizational standards and procedures.

• PYXIS System Management Processes orders in Pyxis. Produces data and reports from PYXIS to monitor inventory and optimize the system.

• Records Management Utilizes computer applications to access information and document completion of tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required High School Diploma/GED

• 1 year Sterile Products Preferred

• 1 year Sterile Compounding Preferred

• 1 year Pharmaceutical/Pharmacology Preferred

• Pharmacy Tech-In-Training Required

• Pharmacy Intern Permit (PHINTERN) - State Licensing Board

• Pharmacy Tech, State Cert (PHT) - State Licensing Board

• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
