The Systems Engineering Team brings to life innovation within the Analog Garage and puts it in customer hands. We bring ideas to life using hardware and software best practices. We are seeking a self-motivated and fast learning Systems Applications Engineer with passion and background in at least two or more of the following areas: signal processing, PCB design, analog/digital circuits design, and FPGA prototyping.  You will work closely with our Systems Architects, Signal Processing Scientists and Circuit Design Engineers to help design, test and deploy innovative signal processing systems.  Depending on candidate’s background, responsibilities will include part or all of the following:

• Assist with creation of System Technical Requirements and System Architecture block diagram.
• Decompose System Requirements into System Specifications
• Research and select main components of the system
• Simulate system functionality in Matlab/Simulink, Python or other simulation tools
• Design of evaluation/test/demo boards
• Perform Lab test and evaluation of new algorithm/silicon/system, working with multifunctional team, to identify, simulate and correct functional and parametric problems.
• Setup of test and measurement instrumentation systems
• Writing test/evaluation/demo automation software and data collection
• Run demos for internal and external customers and/or stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

• BSEE, BSCS or equivalent degree
• Experience with C/C++, Matlab/Simulink, Labview, Python
• Solid background in analog, digital and mixed signal circuits
• Good understanding of signal processing basics
• Familiarity with analog/digital hardware
• Ability to follow specs and achieve high performance requirements
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Solid problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
• Enjoy taking things apart and making things work

Desired Skills and Experience

• MSEE or MSCS degree program
• Knowledge of the following test equipment is highly desirable:   Oscilloscope, Analog/Digital Waveform Generator, Spectrum Analyzer, Programmable Power Supply, Parametric Analyzer, NI PXI platform, Digital/Analog DAQ
• Hands-on experience in PCB design/debug
• Experience/background in embedded software and systems design
• Experience working in a start-up environment
