Position Title: Production Supervisor
Organizational Unit: Beverage Division
Reports to: Converting Manager
Location: Monroe, Louisiana

JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities
Provides leadership to Production and supports shift teams and serves as a link to plant management.
Facilitates team meetings and intervenes as necessary to keep the team's goals and results consistent with company direction.
Works with team members to help them reach their full potential.
Responsible for Safety, product quality, production efficiency, equipment condition, and housekeeping.
The Shift Supervisor has the responsibility, authority, and is accountable to make decisions regarding job assignments, work priorities, and overtime requirements.
Facilitates day-to-day activities of the team
Responsible for shift staffing
Ensures all schedules and releases are met
Responsible for performance coaching/counselling
Prepares and distributes the daily shift report
Ensures that Safety/ housekeeping/ procedures and acceptable work practices are being followed throughout the shift.
Accountable for overall shift performance as relates to quality, waste, and production.
Notifies area managers, Maintenance Manager, Production Manager and Plant Manager of equipment breakdowns which exceed or will exceed two hours in duration.
Develops and implements safety procedures and supports the efforts of the HSE Manager in achieving safety goals.
Completes all shift accident investigations within a twenty-four hour period. Ensures that corrective action is taken.
Required Skills
High School Education.
B.A. or B.S. from nationally accredited college in technical degree (Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.) preferred.
Supervisory experience preferred, preferably within the Folding Carton industry.
Strong communication skills, leadership skills-relationship building, and group facilitation skills required
Computer skills required
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To qualify and perform this job successfully, an individual must have met the administrative and skill qualifications for the position, have no active discipline at top level of suspension at the time of bid, have no active discipline for attendance or safety at the time of bid, exhibit and model the characteristics of Graphic Packaging International’s Core Values (Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, Relationships and Accountability), have successfully proven to have completed the knowledge requirements of the Roll Tender I & II job function and responsibilities, be able to work independently and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
