Shift Time: Variable Hours

At Sunset Assisted Living our kitchen plays a key role in creating a positive and healthy environment by serving nutritious, flavorful meals. We are looking for a dedicated and talented Sous Chef who is passionate about food and can assist with cooking & serving delicious and healthy meals for our residents. 

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Review menus prior to preparation of food and allocate time to tasks appropriately.
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus, including items that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Keep work area clean and assist in daily and scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Assist in plating and serving resident meals for Dining Room.
• Serve food or beverages to residents in Main Dining Room in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures, assuring that worktables and utensils are clean and readily available for next meal.
• Other duties that may become necessary, or as directed by your department manager and/or the Executive Director.
• Foster a positive dining experience by interacting with residents and responding to feedback. 
• Coordinate with the healthcare team to accommodate any special dietary requirements. 

Requirements

Education:

Must possess, as a minimum, a high-school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications:

• Must have Serv Safe Certification or willing to obtain through us.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and dietary guidelines. 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Must be able to lift and carry heavy items as needed.
