Job Summary

The HR Generalist functions primarily in the areas of HR operations and administration, research, reporting, process management. This role is prepared to assist in a wide variety of capacities in direct contact with corporate and field associates and leaders, providing guidance, support, investigating issues, and establishing and maintaining processes with maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Aligns with local HR Business Partner(s) on various needs and objectives respective to each Irby business unit; maintains continuous, proactive communication with HR Business Partners to aid in root cause analysis and strategize unique resolutions for issues.
  • Manage training and development programs through the Learning Management System (LMS), including enrollments, monitoring and updating progress, reporting, and communicating any status changes and completions.
  • Support Training & Development needs, including making recommendations, championing HR best practices, and proactively interfacing with field associates and managers.
  • Oversee company benefit programs such as Educational Assistance, Safety Reimbursement, Paid Time Off, & Service Awards.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in all HR systems, generating and running regularly required and ad-hoc reports for HR team and business leaders, and distributing those reports through compliant and efficient means.
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including HR data changes, pay actions/corrections, verifications of employment, unemployment claims, and wage and benefit questions.
  • Support various HR functions and cyclical processes, including weekly/biweekly payroll processes, benefits enrollment and communication, and leaves of absences
  • Assist with new hire process and management as needed.
  • Researches, identifies, and resolves problems relating to associate information and data, escalating as needed to HR Business Partners or Shared Services.
  • Consult on Employee Relations matters and lead investigations as required.
  • Partner with IT as needed to ensure associate access to Core HR Systems is in place.
  • Communicates and collaborates openly with field leadership and associates, exhibiting exceptional levels of customer service, sense of urgency, attention to detail, and personal accountability. 
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and employment law.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-4 years experience in Human Resources administration or training and development.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices and standards of HR administration.
  • Knowledge of the methods and procedures used in collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting data.
  • Experience managing processes for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent organization, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Previous experience in conflict resolution.
  • Experience utilizing Ceridian, SAP SuccessFactors, SilkRoad Technology, Sterling, TrueNorth and/or PeopleDoc.
