GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides specialized behavioral support for clients in VOAWW’s Supported Living Program across Skagit, Snohomish, and King Counties. This role develops, implements, and monitors Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs), supports staff through training and coaching in evidence-based interventions, and ensures consistency and quality of behavioral supports. The BCBA collaborates with guardians, care teams, and community providers to promote stability, safety, independence, and quality of life for clients. The position is essential in proactively addressing behavioral challenges, reducing crises, and improving long-term outcomes.


PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:
• Develop, review, and modify Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs) for clients across counties.
• Provide direct coaching and mentoring to staff on evidence-based behavioral interventions.
• Analyze behavioral data to track trends and guide proactive interventions.
• Respond to escalated behavioral crises with expertise and real-time guidance.
• Conduct individualized client observations and provide recommendations.
• Train staff in de-escalation, reinforcement, and data collection strategies.
• Collaborate with families, guardians, case managers, therapists, and medical providers.
• Support client intake assessments, particularly for individuals with high behavioral needs.
• Standardize behavioral practices across the program to ensure consistency and equity.
• Develop prevention strategies to identify and address early signs of escalation.
• Participate in annual assessments as part of the client’s interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate behavioral records and documentation for compliance and quality assurance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
• Current Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing.
• At least 2 years of experience providing behavioral support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Knowledge of Positive Behavior Support planning, functional assessment, and evidence-based intervention strategies.
• Strong ability to analyze behavioral data and adjust interventions accordingly.
• Experience providing training, coaching, and mentoring to staff teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Valid Washington State Driver’s license with eligibility for coverage under VOAWW’s vehicle insurance policy, subject to annual review of driving record.
• Must successfully pass and maintain a DSHS background check.
• Commitment to fulfilling ongoing training requirements.
