Research Specialist AJob Description Summary
The incumbent is primarily responsible for maintaining experimental animal resources, performing mouse husbandry, genotyping, record keeping and regulatory compliance. Assists in the daily management of laboratory resources to ensure timely completion of project/program deliverables. Under supervision, plans and conducts experiments to meet research project objectives.Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain mouse colony (general housekeeping, breeding, genotyping, record keeping, animal protocol compliance)
- Oversee lab resources (prepare reagents, order supplies, maintain equipment, perform lab inventory, archive protocols and reagent information for later use)
- Provide experimental research support (histology, molecular biology, microscopy and data analysis as needed)
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to perform within a team setting.
- Prior experience with experimental animal models, including mice, is preferred but not required.
- Strong technology skills are a plus.
