About the role
Who are we?
Netflix is one of the world’s leading entertainment services with over 260 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.
It’s no secret that we want to entertain the world. In order to do that we first must hire and develop the best people, starting with university students.
If you have a passion for solving challenging problems and are excited at the prospect of having a significant impact on productions that over 260 million viewers tune into, then we want to talk to you.
We are looking to host one intern on the Scripted Series Visual Effects (VFX) team during Summer 2024. The Netflix Scripted Series VFX department works to support teams across our diverse slate of shows from prep to wrap and facilitates everything from breaking down scripts, budgeting VFX, sourcing VFX talent, reviewing VFX shots and so much more. Our goal is to facilitate the creation of the best possible VFX for our shows and give our content creators the tools they need to bring their stories to life.
This particular internship focuses on the world of scripted series VFX Production and we are seeking highly motivated candidates who are interested in working in this arena. The intern will be trained for twelve (12) weeks with the Netflix Visual Effects Management team, will receive exposure to a variety of VFX roles, and learn the ins and outs of the VFX process for scripted series television. By the end of the program, the intern will have acquired skills, knowledge, and connections that will aid their growth in VFX and will set them up to be a strong candidate for entry-level VFX positions.
You do not need prior experience to apply; once you submit your application, you’ll receive an email inviting you to complete your application by filling out an Airtable form. You’ll also be asked to submit a 300-word-maximum statement of intent (preferably in PDF format) within the form using the following prompt: The Netflix Series VFX team oversees a variety of shows with varying VFX needs that range from simple screen comps to full CG creatures and environments and no two shows are the same! How do you hope to utilize this internship to help you achieve your VFX career goals? Do you see yourself more likely pursuing a VFX Supervisor/Artist career path or a VFX Producer career path? Please describe any VFX-specific experience you’ve had in the past (if any) (e.g. previous VFX internships, experience creating VFX for a project, experience working with VFX software, VFX specific class(es), etc.).
This posting will be open for a very limited time and will be closed for new applications by February 9, so if you’re interested, please submit your application as soon as possible.
