Job Summary

 

The Quality Engineer is responsible to improve process capability with regards to evaluating statistical data analysis and implementing corrective action to achieve plant KPI indicators. Also responsible for issuing, maintaining, controlling, and auditing documentation required for Quality Systems, Validation, Nonconformance Investigations and cGMP compliance. The Quality Engineer supports the ESM program and Quality Training.

 

Food Safety Compliance: Understands and participate on the implementation and compliance of all plant, company and government standards for Food Safety, Environmental monitoring, HACCP, GMP’s and FSMA initiatives.

 

Tech Transfer / Plant Testing: Site responsibility to manage Technical Transfer Quality Standard. Perform Process Capability Statistical Analysis for new and modified products and communicate to R&D for process improvement. Leads plant testing in conducting post launch reports and product performance reviews.  

 

Process Validation:  Oversees the validation program, maintains and updates validation master plan, develops validation protocols for IQ/OQ/PQ and executes them in conjunction with engineering team. Monitor Calibration program to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Investigate and report customer complaint trends for the site.  Ensures formula related complaints are fully investigated and documented.

 

Continuous Improvement: Utilize quality tools such as Management of Change, Nonconformance Investigation, Pareto Charts, Control Charts, and Notice of Deviations, etc. to help drive continuous improvement. Knowledgeable of site process capability.  Assists with implementation of continuous improvement efforts. Supports the continuous improvement of the site participating on the Internal Audit Program.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure site adheres to Hill’s / Colgate Quality Standards and Hill’s Plant Food Safety Program, based on managing Technical Transfer Quality Standard.  Includes managing plant EMO’s and conducting post launch / product reviews
  • Manage process validation program for the site, create and execute IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, analyze and report process capability to ensure cGMP compliance.
  • Investigate, report and document Product Non-conformances and conduct CAPA investigations at the site.  
  • Documentation support through development and review of operational SOP’s
  • Investigate and report customer complaint trends for site and ensures formula related complaints are fully documented.
  • Conduct training to site on process control, SOP’s and other required topics

 

Education/ Experience Requirements

Basic requirements include:

  • BS degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Food Science or other related field

  • 2 years manufacturing experience

 

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Strong statistical analysis and process control skills / knowledge

  • Knowledge of HACCP, Food Safety, FSMA

  • Colgate Certified Auditor / ESM

  • Knowledge of Colgate Quality standards and Systems


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $70,400 - $111,000 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible
