Job Description

This role will be based in San Francisco, or Chicago, or New York

At LinkedIn, hybrid roles are performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. Remote roles are performed from the designated home work location upon time of hire, and any changes to this home work location requires a review of remote status and approval. 

We are seeking an Employee Relations professional with the ability to create an environment that upholds our unique values and cultural tenants and allows employees to thrive.  We are looking for someone with passion and proven experience in investigating complex employee relations concerns while building strong partnerships across all areas of the business including HR and Legal. 

You will bring a mastery in relationship building, encouraging employees across all levels, including leadership, to follow your lead in ensuring an environment that gives our employees a great experience. 

In addition to the investigative elements of the role, you will act as a key advisor and subject matter expert on content knowledge, relationship management, and proactive interventions. You will advise employees and management on highly complex and critical ER/HR issues, policies, practices, and programs. You will provide counseling and support to ER and HR professionals, business managers, and employees in dealing with day-to-day issues in the workplace related to employee relations, legal, compliance, performance management, coaching, and change management.  

Responsibilities:  

  • Analyze, manage, and track key ER data to understand trends and develop proactive solutions.  
  • Review processes through a continuous improvement lens to streamline and optimize our work and allow us to scale globally.  
  • Advise and counsel managers on disciplinary issues, including misconduct, policy practice violations, corrective actions, and terminations.  
  • Investigate, assess, and recommend resolutions to employee relations issues. 
  • Develop and present appropriate training on HR and employee relations topics.  
  • Identify risk areas and proactive work needed to ensure a positive employee experience. 
  • Inspire passion, inject change, and help drive the Employee Relations brand within LinkedIn.  
  • Contribute to Global Employee Relations projects and ad hoc cross-functional related projects. 
  • Champion LinkedIn's culture and values and support efforts to foster a culture of belonging to help the Employee Relations team and our partners have fun, achieve their goals, and develop their skill sets. 
  • Lead with an agile mindset, focus on problem-solving through creative solutions, and thrive in an environment where growth and change are steady constants. 
  • Bring leadership and innovation to improve, consolidate, and streamline operations and processes that support the Employee Relations function. 

 

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:  

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Employee Relations, including leading investigations related to allegations of discrimination, harassment and retaliation. 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Familiarity with US employment law 
  • Experience in hyper-growth and/or emerging businesses as well as large scale, complex organizations  
  • Experience in matrixed, global environment; deep employee relations experience and resilience to navigate ambiguous situations 
  • Ability to manage situations that are time sensitive and highly confidential 
  • Critical thinker able to manage multiple complex issues and prioritize projects concurrently  
  • Excellent analytical skills  
  • Outstanding empathy, interpersonal and listening skills  
  • Ability to flex and be successful in both the tactical and strategic elements of the role 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with a familiarity of HR Information Systems
