Overview

PharMerica is a non-retail pharmacy that focuses on providing exceptional customer service and meeting the pharmacy needs for hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, long-term acute care centers, and other specialized care centers nationwide. 

 

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Mobile Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Houston, TX. This role requires local travel up to 75%, to senior living communities to assist in pharmacy operations, medication preparation, and patient support. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently in a mobile setting.

 

SCHEDULE:

ON-SITE

Monday-Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm or 1:30pm - 10:00pm

Rotating weekends

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School DiplomaMinimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Texas Pharmacy Tech License

PTCB Certification Required

Valid Drivers License

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSReliable personal vehicle for travel

Proof of current car insurance 

Ability to travel up to 75%

Responsibilities

  • Travel to multiple locations to support pharmacy operations and medication distribution
  • Collects information needed to fill prescriptions from customers or healthcare professionals
  • Measures, mixes, and labels medications under the supervision of a pharmacist
  • Ensures accurate prescription preparation and dispensing
  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
  • Process insurance claims and handle medication inquiries
  • Ensure inventory control and proper storage of medications during transit
  • Adhere to all safety and security protocols while transporting medications
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacy teams and healthcare professionals
  • Supervisory Responsibility: No

 

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE• High school diploma or equivalent required • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician.

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS• Pharmacy technician certification required

    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSPercentage of Travel: 25-75%

    • Reliable personal vehicle for travel. • Ability to travel 60-70% of the time.

     

    **To perform this role will require frequently sitting, standing, walking, typing on a keyboard with fingers and occasionally bending, reaching, and climbing (stairs/ladders). The physical requirements will be the ability to push/pull and lift/carry 11-20 lbs.**
