About the role
<p>Your new challenge! You are an energetic Ops Engineer with a passion for IT Infrastructure and positive can-do mind-set. You are a team player working as a core member of a multidisciplinary and cross-functional squad. Close collaboration within and across the squads and with the consumer is of utmost importance for you. You identify and analyses problems and take the lead in solving incidents. You continuously strive to improve yourself and your colleagues in the DevOps way of working. You have a broad and diverse set of competencies that allow you to operate, maintain and test the standardized and highly automated infrastructure services, and allows you to automate as much of the operating and maintenance work as possible.</p><p></p><p><b><u><span>This position is included night shifts, late shifts and during weekend.</span></u></b></p><p>Especially you focus on:</p><ul><li><p>Maintain full infrastructure service to the consumer:</p></li><li><p>Maintain consumable standardized infrastructure services (resilient, high quality, highly automated and up-to-date). Automate all repetitive or error-prone operational activities.</p></li><li><p>Analyze incidents and align with DevOps Squads to deliver structural solutions. Support and educate consumers on using the standardized infrastructure services (consumers are responsible for their own instances).</p></li><li><p>Apply and improve DevOps way of working </p></li><li><p>Implement user stories from backlog as agreed with the Product Owner on the Azure board. Participate in DevOps rituals (e.g. daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint review, retrospective, peer reviews).</p></li><li><p>Continuously improve yourself, your squad and the service: Conduct root cause analysis to identify service improvements. Actively ask for feedback and coaching for improvement.</p></li><li><p>Provide feedback to squad members to avoid waste. Collaborate within and across squads to understand services end-to-end.</p></li></ul><p>You recognize yourself in this profile (Competencies)?</p><ul><li><p>Broad understanding of technologies and consumer needs: </p></li><li><p>Knowledge across stack, technologies and ecosystems:</p></li><li><p>Impact of different factors on performance and capacity of services.</p></li><li><p>Technical implications of Security and Risk principles.</p></li><li><p>Understanding of consumer context and needs, as well as the value-add of your service to the consumer.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Expertise in coding/ scripting languages and automation tooling:</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of configuration tools.</p></li><li><p>Experience with virtualization environments and tools e.g., VMware, cloud forms.</p></li><li><p>Experience with performance and capacity monitoring tooling and practices.</p></li></ul><p>Working-level knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices:</p><ul><li><p>Understanding of the Scrum methodology (e.g. backlog and spring planning, review and marketplace).</p></li><li><p>Mindset of continuous improvement of the service and way of working.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of DevOps way of working (e.g., continuous delivery, cross-functional team set-ups, development of cross-skilled squad members) Competencies - Behaviors - Mindset of openness and willingness to try new ways of working and technologies.</p></li><li><p>End-to-end ownership mindset, strong team player who takes responsibility.</p></li><li><p>Independent and autonomous in completing tasks:</p></li><li><p>Reflects upon behaviors and performance to proactively identify improvement areas. Strong problem solver to structure and improve complex situations.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Coach others to help their individual development.</p><p>Your education and background</p><ul><li>Professional and intellectual IT-ability, at least Bachelor's degree Certifications and/or proven proficiency in one or more programming / scripting languages. Excellent command of spoken and written English.
