Governance & Institutional Relations officer

ActionAid Hellas (AAH) is searching for a Governance & Institutional Relations Officer , to join a global movement of committed individuals working to further human rights and defeat poverty. We are an independent, international organization that has been working since 1972.
The scope of this role :
- Facilitate institutional relations with key national institutional actors organizations/associations/networks and develop advocacy papers & policy recommendations
- Support Governance department
- Monitor alignment and compliance with ActionAid Policies
Key responsibilities
- Update regularly mapping of key (for ActionAid) institutional stakeholders, contacts & collaborations
- Develop plans for relationship building & networking
- Identify areas of policy/advocacy interventions in line with ActionAid priorities and provide research & content for policy recommendations
- Participate in Civil Society networks and build relations & synergies with other organisations
- Provide administrative support to the dpt (e.g. presentations, reports, newsletters, signatures collection etc)
- Liaise with banks and other institutions, including their legal departments and coordinate collection and dissemination of legal documents
- Act with high degree of confidentiality
- Promote the culture and values of compliance with ActionAid policies & standards, within the organisation, develop presentations and deliver training
- Monitor compliance with ActionAid policies, produce regular updates and provide input on addressing non-compliance issues
- Conduct risk assessments & propose mitigation actions
- Contribute in developing a departmental strategic plan and budget
- Monitor allocated budget activities and expenditure and adapt as necessary through the year, if required
- Work effectively with relevant international teams to maximise the benefits of international collaboration & shared learning
Requirements
- Academic degree in Political Sciences, International Relations or Law or other relative field of studies
- Up to three (3) years experience in relative positions
- Analytical and strategic thinking
- Attention to detail
- Flexibility
- Ability to work under strict deadlines
- Familiarity with digital tools
- Ability to develop and perform presentations & trainings
- Strong interpersonal / communication and organisation skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent use (both oral & written) of the Greek and the English language
- Availability to travel domestic and abroad
